1. Do I need to make an appointment? I am by appointment only. I prefer to give quality time to my brides and generally spend about an hour in consultation. My customers are a top priority. As such, I can occasionally stay late. Please call to schedule your appointment.
2. What do I need to bring to the appointment? In order to design the perfect cake for you, I need as much information as possible. A closeup of the embroidery on your dress, color swatches, invitation designs and other items that will enable me to customize your wedding cake can be helpful.
3. How far in advance do I have to book? I prefer at least 2 months notices, but encourage more. I accept only a small number of weddings per weekend and will frequently book up to 6 months in advance. Once I'm booked that's it. Everything is on a "First come, first served basis."
I personally fill all of my orders myself. I do not have employees.
5. When do I have to pay for my cake? You must pay for the cake in full THREE WEEKS prior to your wedding date. All cake details need to be finalized at that time. If the cake has not been paid for within that time period CASH only will accepted.
This is largely a southern tradition. They are normally decadent chocolate cakes or a novelty design to honor the groom's occupation, hobby or interests.
7. Can I have a filling in my cakes? Yes! You get one filling per tier at no additional charge, unless you use fresh fruit. Please see my fillings list for ideas.
8. Do you serve the cake also? No. Normally your caterer can provide that service for you or you select friends or relatives to do so. I can instruct them on how to successfully serve your cake if they are there when I set up.
9. Do I have to pick on of your designs? No. Bring in any design you find and I'll give you a price.
All weddings between Beggs and Henryetta are delivered and set up for free. Tulsa - $50.00 Okemaha - $25.00 It just depends on where your at as to how much your delivery fee will be.
11. Who delivers and how are the cakes transported? I personally deliver and set up all cakes 2 hours before the wedding begins. Depending on the size and distance that has to be traveled. Most all cakes are built on site.
12. What if my wedding is outside? I recommend that you display your cake outside. If you choose to do so, please remember that wedding cakes do not like heat, wind, humidity, flying bugs, dirt, birds, and squirrels. In this case I prefer to deliver as close to actual reception time as possible. I cannot guarantee that your cake will not melt or be damaged if you decide to display it outside.
A NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE DEPOSIT of $50.00 will be applied to your order. If you want me to make your cake. And put you on my calendar. This $50.00 is non-refundable even if you cancel your wedding.
Of course. I will gladly provide Brides with a sample tasting. Please ask for 3-4 flavors you would like to try when you schedule your consultation (please no more than 4 people)
15. Do I have to have white cake? No. You may choose any flavor cake on my list and any flavor filling and each layer of your cake can be different.
16. What if I don't want a traditional wedding cake? You have lots of options. Whether it's a cake ball tower, dessert bars, cupcakes, or carved design that suits your personality, I am will to work with you.
17. Does rolled fondant really taste bad? Not when it's done right! I use the finest fondant and cover the cake first with butter cream. This ensures that the fondant stays softer and gives your guests a familiar taste in case they don't like the texture of the fondant.
18. What happens if I have to cancel my wedding after I've paid? Your $50.00 deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE if you cancel 90 days or more before your date I will give you a refund of what you have paid minus the $50.00. If you cancel less than 60 days before your date you get half of your money back if you cancel 20 days or less from your date. You will not receive a refund. You can reschedule your wedding for a new date and time within the next 12 months. Because I do everything myself I am only able to take a certain amount of orders per weekend 30 days in advance I already have the supplies for your cake and may have turned down other weddings to do your wedding. |
